Behind the Brand

Where do you start when you meet us, the Degeler brand, for the first time. Best at the beginning. In 1994 Frank Degeler developed and designed the first collections for well-known brands in the field of bags, leather goods and luggage. He not only advised classic luggage and bag brands, but also corporations, for example from the automotive and aviation industries. With these brands, developments often followed the same pattern: At the beginning, the focus was on material quality, workmanship and design. But towards the end of the developments, compromises were made, especially in the quality of the products, in order to achieve lower prices and higher sales figures.

It is logical that if the demands are implemented without compromise, the whole thing has its price. As a result, compromises often had to be made, especially in terms of quality, in order to keep the costs of the final products under control. After a few years of relevant experience, Frank founded the DEGELER brand in 1998 to develop and design bags, leather goods and luggage according to his standards and at the same time no To make compromises on the processing and material qualities! Always supported by his wife Sylvia and after completing his studies also by his eldest son Tim Degeler.

So much for us, the people behind DEGELER, but what exactly defines a DEGELER product:

In order to make this possible, we always try to break new ground. We start where others stop and go to the extreme. From materials such as Keprotec® - the material reinforced by Kevlar fibers is extremely durable and very light - to six-week pit-tanned saddle leather, which is treated exclusively with natural oak sap. But the unique clothes hanger made of 100% titanium for the SkyHanger® is probably the best example that we always try to create something special out of something ordinary. It has never been about selling as many pieces of luggage as possible for us, but rather unique ones.

The dream of the perfect piece of luggage drives us. We will continue to act according to this motto in the future because we love what we do. We will always try to get the best out of ideas. This creates our personal touch in terms of design, material and craftsmanship, which particularly touches people.
