Product care – maintaining DEGELER quality

Our products are designed to accompany you stylishly and reliably for many years.
To keep it that way, we recommend the following material-specific care instructions. These instructions apply to all DEGELER bags, travel companions, coat hangers, and accessories.

General care instructions

• Avoid extreme heat, direct sunlight and excessive humidity.

• After contact with rain or moisture, allow your products to air dry – not on radiators or with a hairdryer.

• Store your product in a dry place and free from pressure – ideally in a breathable fabric bag or hanging (e.g. on coat hangers).

• Avoid storing in cardboard packaging as a long-term protection solution – these do not provide sufficient air circulation and can put stress on the material.

Titanium components (e.g. “The Carrier” coat hanger)

Titanium is extremely light, rust-proof and durable – ideal for long-lasting functional parts.

Care:

• Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

• If necessary, use mild soap (pH neutral).

• Do not use abrasives or metal cleaners.

• Dry with a soft microfiber cloth.

Technical upper materials

1. Nylon & PVC (e.g. weekender, toiletry bag, SkyHanger®)

These materials are particularly durable and water-repellent – ​​made for daily wear and tear.

Care:

• Wipe off dirt with a damp cloth or soft sponge.

• If necessary, use mild soapy water – no solvents or household cleaners.

• Do not put in washing machine or dryer.

• After cleaning, allow to dry thoroughly – ideally in the air, not in direct sunlight.

2. Exclusive DEGELER body material (e.g. for backpacks)

Functional fabric specially developed for DEGELER with a matte surface, pleasant feel and high dimensional stability.

Care:

• Wipe with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

• For heavier soiling, use a mild soap solution.

• No chemical cleaners, no heat, no ironing.

• Allow to dry before repacking or wearing the product.

Leather components

DEGELER uses high-quality calfskin and robust cowhide – each deliberately treated with restraint to preserve the natural structure.

Calf leather (smooth, fine-pored)

Care:

• Remove dust with a dry cloth.

• If necessary, treat with a soft cloth and special calfskin care product.

• Do not over-care – 2-3 applications per year are usually sufficient.

• Protect from moisture – if wet, gently pat dry, do not rub.

Cowhide (more grained, more robust)

Care:

• Wipe with a slightly damp cloth for superficial soiling.

• Use leather care products sparingly and as needed.

• Do not expose leather to direct heat or direct sunlight.

• Store in a dry, upright place – do not bend or store under pressure.

Tip: Leather gains character over time – small changes in structure and tone are part of its natural patina.

storage

• Ideally, store DEGELER products standing or hanging in a dry place protected from light .

• If the device is not in use for a long time, use a cloth bag or breathable protective cover – not closed plastic boxes or original cartons.

• Avoid placing heavy objects on the products – this will protect the shape, structure and zippers.
